With the festival in full swing, it's time to put on one of our one hour concert spots, this time in the Palacky park. After a warm up off we go
By now we've got a large appreciative audience so it must be time for some audience participation. I know, let's dance Beaux of London City and then, since we've shot the musician, it's time for the ritual cry of "proboha proboha, co jsme to udelali?" (Oh dear oh dear what have we done etc etc).
Lead on the willing young lady volunteer to give us all the kiss of life (well who said we shouldn't enjoy ourselves) and it's on with the show
And all too soon it's finale time, but not before making the Czech army band wait (well they did arrive too early!)
Next spot - it must be Pavlickovo Square
And now for a spot of travelling around Pisek, starting at the brewery and orphanage in Zvikov
and afterwards, perhaps a quick photo opportunity with the local mayor
then we're off to the town of Trebon, passing through Ceske Budejovice en route, (the home of the original and tasty Budweiser real ale) and into a lovely old square where I suppose the Squire will have to dance a jig
Before we head back home, let's go and dance once more in Pisek, right in the middle of the Kamenny bridge
and then reluctantly it's time to return to Wales.
Thanks to all our many new friends that we made in Pisek for the pictures and articles and especially to Hana Bruncvikova for the translations; we look forward to returning. For a selection of dancing pictures taken during our visits, please pick the choices on the left of this page. |
