Isca Morrismen Silver Jubilee
Evening Celebrations

After a full day of dancing followed by a refreshing swim, all the groups returned to Brynglas House in Newport for an evening of celebrations, starting with a cocktail party laid on by Winkleigh Morris (spot the Music Hall MC eager to gatecrash the photos!!)

together with a treat of best Lancashire farmhouse cheese provided by the John O'Gaunt men

Then on to a cornucopia of delights with each side putting on a short light-hearted Music Hall act, most accomplished with a straight face!

With the audience nicely warmed up, the ever popular sand dance followed, and then, as the judges eagerly watch, enter a fairy, now sadly outgrown the top of her christmas tree . . . . .

. . . . . and a Sweyns Ey ventriloquist's dummy. And then just when we thought we'd seen it all, back come the Winkleigh charladies for a little recitation, accompanied by some sticks of celery . . . .(and the obligatory dwarf photographer from the US of A!)

and after all that a sumptuous buffet, laid on by Jeanette. Then to celebrate our 25 years in traditional style, a selection of iced cakes specially commissioned for the occasion:

At last, our stomachs full, it's time for the evening ceilidh to begin and a welcome return to the well known Yorkshire band, Bedlam, fresh from the recording studios:

and during the ceilidh, a medieval dance spot from those Guernsey Belles and Broomsticks (sadly no uncensored photos!) and then after a while, two other sessions naturally evolve - a song session in the bar and a musicians free for all in the music room:

and after a long night at the bar and discussions into the early hours, dawn nears and it's time for bed - cheers!
