Weekend Programme

The weekend was hosted by the Isca Morris Men on behalf of the Morris Ring and the programme of activities is shown below. All activities, with the exception of overnight accommodation, took place in the Bridges Community Centre, Drybridge Park, Wonaston Road, Monmouth. Overnight accommodation was kindly provided by the Monmouth Rugby Club in Monmouth.

Friday 7th March

18.30 - Reception opened at both the Bridges Community Centre and at the Monmouth Rugby Club (Upstairs).

19.00 - Hot Supper and a traditional Welsh Real Ale and Cider Bar were available all evening.

Saturday 8th March

08.00 - 09.30  Breakfast

10.30 - 11.00  Morning refreshments

11.00 - 12.30  Annual Representatives' Meeting Part 1

12.30 - 13.30  Lunch

13.30 - 15.30  Annual Representatives' Meeting Part 2

16.00 - 17.00  Short presentation by local historian and author, Alan Roderick, on the origins of Welsh Morris Dancing & Music and the local Mari Lwyd & Mumming Plays.

17.00 - 18.30  Rest and relaxation

19.00 onwards - Traditional Welsh Feast

10.30 - 12.30  A Public Celebration of Morris Dancing and Welsh Tradition

    and other local Welsh Dancing Groups
