Isca Morrismen in Action on May Morning

Isca Morrismen pose after the dancing

Isca Morrismen celebrated the start of their 26th year with the usual traditional dawn performance from around 5.15 a.m. at the Roman Ampitheatre in Caerleon. The weather this year was dry and clear with an excellent sunrise from around 6.15 a.m. In the early morning pre-dawn with the moon still visible, the side were filmed by a number of people, including Merlin, the web author of the excellent site Caerleon Net - to whom we are indebted for the attached short video of the dance "Skirmish" from the Bledington tradition.

Please note that this video has a size of around 0.9 MBytes which means that without a broadband connection it will take between 4 and 8 minutes to download, depending on the type of computer in use. It is in the form of an MPEG file which, provided you have the relevant software installed,  can be played automatically on a variety of packages, including Windows Media Player.
