Isca Morrismen May Morning 2004

As usual, our touring season in 2004 begins on May morning at 5.15 a.m. in Caerleon Amphitheatre where the dancing continued until around 6.40 a.m. by which time it was fully light. This year it was very cloudy, so for once we were unable to enjoy the first rays of the morning sunshine.

For those of you who missed this traditional event, which was again kindly sponsored by Cwmbran Brewery, we present a selection of photographs. We are also grateful to Keith from Sweyns Ey who valiantly turned up from Swansea to help out with the music.

Still almost dark and these figures appear out of the gloom as the hordes assemble, so let's get the dancing underway

well that's the first dance completed this year and let there now be light . . .

As the time moved on the dancers began to be able to see each other and the dancing continued . . .

. . .  with a dance entitled The Postman's Knock, quite appropriate at that time of the morning

and then it was time to move on for breakfast at Maggie May in Caerleon where the dancers were still keen to perform . . .

come on then, after that large breakfast let's work some of it off . . .

. . . and we'll leave the final word to our foreman, Paul. See you next year . . .
