Isca Morrismen Red Hart
Triple Silver Jubilee Weekend

At the end of June 2001 the side welcomed Harthill Morris from Yorkshire and Yateley Morrismen from Hampshire to a joint 25th Anniversary weekend and took over a local pub, the Red Hart Inn at Llanfapley. The Cottage Brewery was persuaded to brew a special 5.4% brew called Morris Jubilee Ale which was also supplied to all their other outlets and, together with a range of 4 other ales, the sides were kept well lubricated.

On the Saturday a day tour began in bright sunshine on the Bowling Green at Raglan Castle with it's spectacular views over the surrounding area. Both Isca (above) and Harthill (below) pose before the start of the day's activities.

And then it's on with the show with Yateley quickly in full flow:

followed by Harthill sticking with some vigour:

and then the Isca men in full flow at Raglan Castle, watched by Harthill.

As the sun became warmer it was on to the coach and over to the Star at  Llanvihangel Tor-y-Mynydd. Having filled their tankards, the groups prepare to dance:

and my, aren't Yateley keen:

Well it must be Harthill's turn by now, but at least we can lean on each other:-

And then it was time to move on. After a large buffet lunch at the Fountain Inn, Trellech Grange the groups moved on to the Lion Inn at Trellech, this time Isca were keen to start the dancing, so make sure the traffic has stopped and off we go. . . .

. . . . Right, well that got them moving, and now it's time Yateley gave it some welly:

And then it was time to move on, first to the Cripple Creek Inn at Bryngwyn  before the groups returned in the early evening to Llanfapley for a five course celebration meal including iced cakes with the badges of the three sides:

Well let's have the three Squires to cut the cakes:

and then to mark our twenty five, Isca presented their Squire with an engraved rose bowl as a thanks for all the work done on their behalf:

On the Sunday an hour of dancing followed at the Red Hart in Llanfapley to round off a memorable celebration, starting with Ian, the landlord joining one of the dances:

and then Yateley found a lively lady, and up she goes!!

before Isca bring the weekend's dancing to a close:

In the words of the Harthill men:
"A superb celebration weekend with good company, good food,
good beer, good organisation and excellent weather - a weekend
to remember for a long time to come."
