9.30 a.m. Newport Cathedral, Newport

It has become a bit of a tradition over the last few years to dance in front of the entrance to Newport Cathedral where we are usually welcomed by the Canon who likes to encourage the local population to experience the performance and sounds of the morris.

10.45 a.m. Nags Head Inn, Usk

An old pub set on the main Twyn Square which specialises in selling only excellent Welsh ales and local food. The Nags Head is a friendly free house in the centre of Usk and an establishment that we visit regularly.
We danced in our usual spot by the roundabout on the road opposite the pub and after a few dances retired inside to relax before moving on to Abergavenny.

12.45 p.m. Hen and Chickens, Abergavenny

For our next spot we visited a long established local institution in Flannel Street which is run by Brains Brewers. This large and very friendly pub is just off the main shopping street and has a strong local clientele and one of the largest real ale consumptions in Abergavenny. As usual, we had an enthusiastic audience both outside the pub and down in the main street.

3.00 p.m. Magor Spring Fair

After lunch the groups moved on and danced at the traditional Spring Fair held each year in the main square in front of the Golden Lion. This has become something of a tradition over the years and a very welcoming spot.

If you are a musician of either sex who enjoys folk music, then again you will be well received, so whatever instrument you play, provided that it is portable, come and join us and learn our music. Come along and we'll ensure that you enjoy yourself and hopefully come back for more as we tour our area over the summer months.

If you require any more information then please check our Contact and Feedback page for our current officers telephone numbers or email us at our address: Enquiries 'at' Isca-Morrismen.com. We are a lively bunch and travel a fair bit with our activities, both in the UK and Overseas, so come on - contact us today and join in the fun, you'll not regret it!

This year we are delighted that our traditional dancing programme is being sponsored by local Welsh Breweries, producers of excellent real ale to whom we are grateful for their wholehearted support.
Please enjoy their real ales and visit their websites to learn more by clicking on the pictures.
We also acknowledge the support and encouragement of The Mount Pleasant in Old Cwmbran, our after-practice venue during the winter.
