9.30 a.m. St Woolos Cathedral, Newport
12.45 p.m. Hen and Chickens, Abergavenny
For our next spot we visited a local institution in Flannel Street acquired by Brains Brewers a few years ago and tastefully modernised. This large and very friendly pub is just off the main shopping street and has a strong local clientele and one of the largest real ale consumptions in Abergavenny. After lunch the groups moved on and danced at the traditional Spring Fair held each year in the main square in front of the Golden Lion. This has become something of a tradition over the years and a very welcoming spot.
